The Satin Dolls is a delightful three girl jazz trio.  Their concerts range from the traditional trio sound of forties groups like the Andrews and McGuire Sisters and the Supremes to contemporary pop, like the love song from the movie, Titanic.

Theresa, Cathy and Tracey each bring a rich musical background to the group.

Theresa Danne has been the trio’s director for the last eight years.  She’s a Texas girl with a degree in music from the University of Houston.  Before Satin Dolls, she sang with the Los Angeles Jazz Choir and has been a guest soloist in churches and on classical concert stages throughout Texas and California.  Theresa is currently assistant director of the Premiere Chorale, which gave birth to the Satin Dolls.  She’s also proficient on keyboards and a whiz at writing arrangements for the group.

Cathy Davis Cox is a native Chicagoan and a product of Northwestern University who came to thaw out and never left.  She can be heard on Brian Setzer’s 2002 Christmas CD and the Caroling Company’s 2003 Christmas release and voiced character’s for Nickelodeon and HBO. Cathy sings classical to pop.   Her latest appearance was as guest soloist for the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale in Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concert at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, singing coloratura scat jazz.  She is the unofficial costumer for the Satin Dolls, drawing from an inexhaustible supply of sequins.

Tracey Rooney is the newest member of the Satin Dolls and the East Coast contingent, with a long stage resume and national touring credits.  She has performed on television in many soaps and always has a film about to be released.  Her musical resume includes singing backup for Rosemary Clooney and Debby Boone and cabaret on the New York scene.  Tracey brings a wealth of experience to the business side of the group.

The Satin Dolls have their own CD now available, CHRISTMAS WITH THE SATIN DOLLS.  It features hip jazz arrangements like “Let It Snow,” beloved favorites such as “The Christmas Song,” and a few novelty numbers like “Christmas On The Beach In Malibu.”
